In this browser

FAQ for hunters.

A short guide to profile, saved roles, and moving devices — all local to this browser. No account, no cloud copy.

01

What stays in this browser

Your profile, saved roles, named searches, applied marks, and visit markers stay in this browser. There is no account. Open the same site in another browser or on another phone and that copy is empty until you import a file.

02

Set up a profile

Open Profile. Paste resume text or choose a PDF. Press Find skills. Check the skill chips and years, then Save to this browser. The resume is read here and discarded; only skill names and years stay on this device.

03

Skills in common

After you save a profile, listings show how many skills they mention that also appear in your profile, such as 6 of 9 skills. A missing skill means it was not detected in your profile; it does not mean you lack it. Experience information is shown separately. These are reading aids, not a suitability score.

04

Save a role

Press the star on a listing or a job page. Saved roles show under Saved. The star keeps up to 200 roles in this browser. You can also name and save a search from the jobs list, then reopen it from Saved with the same filters.

05

Mark Applied

Applied is a local toggle on a listing or job page. Clicking Apply on the employer site does not mark it. Use the toggle when you want a reminder that you sent an application.

06

Move to another device

On Profile, use Export to download a JSON file of skills, saved roles, named searches, and applied marks. On the other device, open Profile and Import that file. The file stays with you; it is not uploaded to ZeroDay.

07

Clear or lose it

Clear profile on the profile page removes the saved skills and years from this browser. Clearing this site's data, or closing a private window, removes profile, saved roles, named searches, and applied marks. There is no account to recover them from.

08

What ZeroDay never sees

ZeroDay never receives your resume, skill list, years, saved roles, or applied marks. Those stay in this browser. We do not run an applicant account. The public site has no applicant name or resume file. Limited anonymous usage analytics help operate the index; that is not a profile.

09

Alerts and RSS vs saved

Email alerts store the address and selected filters after you confirm the message. That address is the only one we keep, and only for the alert. Every alert has a stop link that deletes it. RSS needs no address. Saved roles and named searches stay in this browser. Saving a search does not subscribe you to email. Use its Email alert or RSS link when you want to follow new postings.
